G-advisory advises the Inter-American Development Bank on the financing of three batteries to provide regulated services in El Salvador

G-advisory has advised IDB Invest on the financing of three energy storage batteries, owned by independent power provider Neoen, for the provision of primary and secondary reserve services in El Salvador. The batteries (one of which is already in operation) will be financed with debt granted by IDB Invest and will be located at the Providencia and Capella PV plants. They will have a combined capacity of 14 MW / 10 MWh.

G-advisory will also provide supervisory services for the construction and operation of the battery systems. This is one of the first financing deals of this type of asset, which are vital for the successful decarbonization of countries’ electricity systems.
