G-advisory strengthens its presence in Latin America with an office in Bogotá
The technical, economic, and strategic consulting arm of the Garrigues group, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary, establishes a base in Colombia to respond to the growth of the energy market and strengthen its local services offer.
G-advisory has announced the opening of a new office in Bogotá, a strategic step that consolidates its growth in Latin America and reinforces its commitment to a market that is in the midst of strong growth. The decision comes at a time of strong momentum in Colombia’s energy and sustainability sectors. The country has become one of the region’s main hubs for generation and storage projects, and also for M&A processes and financing operations.
Over the last few years, the G-advisory team has worked intensively in the country from its offices in Mexico, Chile and Spain. However, the notable increase in development and construction projects, together with the growth forecast in the Colombian electricity market until 2030, have prompted the firm to establish a permanent local presence.
“Opening an office in Colombia reflects the work and dedication of our teams in Latin America and Spain. It confirms that we are fulfilling our mission: to support the energy transition in markets where there is still much to be done from now until 2050”, underscored Sofía Lazcano, partner in charge of G-advisory.
Colombia, a key element for G-advisory in the regional strategy of Latin America
Thew new Bogotá office will be headed by Eduardo Pedregosa, a professional with over 10 years’ experience in the sector and 8 years at the firm, where he has taken part in a wide range of projects. His appointment reflects a strategy that prioritizes internal growth and the experience gained within the firm.
“Heading the Bogotá office is an exciting challenge. Our local presence will enable us to provide even quicker responses to and work more closely with our clients, explained Eduardo Pedregosa.
The office will work in close coordination with the well-established teams in Mexico and Chile. The regional coordination will be led by Claudio Tabilo, counsel at G-advisory, who heads the activities in Latin America. “The opening of the Colombia office reinforces a fully unified operating model spanning Mexico, Chile and now Bogotá. This regional vision is key to maintaining the standards of quality and consistency for which G-advisory is known in all the markets in which we operate”, explained Claudio.
Immediate value for clients with key services and new opportunities
Core services in Colombia will be technical and environmental due diligences for M&A processes and financing operations. In addition, the implementation of green taxonomy opens up new opportunities for services aimed at validating compliance beyond the energy sector.
