G-advisory participates in a seminar on the impact on the energy market of the measures included in the National Plan in response to the war in the Ukraine

G-advisory partner Antonio Baena took part in a round table discussion held under the framework of the Introduction to the Electricity market Course organized by Enerclub and held on May 4, 5 and 6. The participants also included Juan Bogas (OMIE), José María González Moya (APPA) and Elena Mateos (Naturgy).

Those taking part in the seminar analyzed the innovations of Royal Decree Law 6/2022, which introduced amendments to the price regime of energy from renewable sources, cogeneration and waste (RECORE). In addition, they analyzed the changes that must be made in the electricity wholesale market and the potential impact on the electricity pool prices of the mechanism to restrict the price of gas to €50/MWh in the MIBEL cassation system. The mechanism, known as the “Iberian exception”, has been initially validated by the European Commission and is expected to be passed by the Cabinet at an extraordinary meeting to be held next Friday.
