Masdar expands its presence in renewables in Spain and Portugal with the €1.2 billion purchase of Saeta Yield from Brookfield
Masdar, a renewable energy firm based in Abu Dhabi, has signed a deal with Canadian fund Brookfield to purchase Saeta Yield for $1.4 billion (€1.2 billion). G-advisory acted as technical adviser to the seller.
With this transaction, Masdar now controls a 745 MW portfolio of green assets already in operation in Spain and Portugal, centering mainly on wind assets (538 MW in Spain and 144 MW in Portugal) and, to a lesser extent, solar assets (63 MW in Spain). The company also takes control of a 1.6 GW portfolio under development in both countries.
