Álvaro Alonso
Director
Álvaro Alonso is a principal at G-advisory and holds a degree in industrial engineering from Universidad de Navarra. He has also completed an executive training program run by IE Business School and the Financial Times (2023). With over 20 years’ international experience in the renewable energies and oil & gas sectors, he has pursued his career in both the EPC field at Intecsa Industrial (ACS Group), and as an owner and investor at ACCIONA Energía.
As corporate director of Engineering, Technology and Bids at ACCIONA Energía, he led global technical governance, managing multidisciplinary teams in Europe, the US, Australia, Latin America, Southeast Asia, India and South Africa. Under his technical leadership, due diligence was carried out on a 100 GW portfolio of renewable energy projects, with approximately 6 GW reaching FID and entering operation.
His areas of expertise include technical due diligence in M&A deals, optimization of capex and levelized cost of energy (LCOE), assessment of production risks, and grid integration. He has experience in a variety of renewable technologies, including onshore and offshore wind power, solar PV, biomass, battery storage, hydrogen, and a range of oil & gas facilities.
